I'll start off by saying that I love Tahm Kench, and have 3 million mastery on him. Everything I list here, I list for the family. I would love for TK to be a balancable champion (in both top and support, and across all elos), without sacrificing his identity.
Matchup Consistency: Getting one shot, as a squishy, by a tank is annoying. Obviously. The thing is, TK has no %HP damage on his basic abilities, as almost every other top lane tank does. I think the solution is to remove a little bit of flat damage, while adding a little bit of %HP damage, either on Q or passive. This way, squishies don't have to get one shot (Sorry about that, Reptile!) and TK players don't have to deal with despair whenever playing against a target with some actual health. I'm not suggesting a complete overhaul; I get that there is value in being able to specialize in something such as killing squishies; but I don't think TK's matchups necessarily have to be as black and white as they are. As it stands, I think this is the main reason he isn't receiving buffs. Below is a screenshot of Phroxzon explaining he is too frustrating to buff. (Shoutout Phroxzon though, love the work you do for real, and I've been a fan since Leaguecraft 101.)
Balance across roles and ranks: When TK was great in support, they nerfed his armor, and then nerfed his Q. I don't think this was the answer. At rank 1 E, TK's gray health jumps from 15% to 42% when there's 2 or more visible enemies nearby. This makes it so that it is sometimes genuinely better to 1v2 than it is to 1v1. I won't suggest full removal, but I think if we were to cut this back, we could buff something that high elo top lane would enjoy, such as a SMALL waveclear buff. I understand waveclear is supposed to be a weakness, and I think there's caution to be had, but it'd be nice not to be checkmated in high elo, especially in S25 where shoving is a much better option.
Quality of life: Tahm Kench still has AD as his default adaptive force, which is actually really funny since he is a champion that does all AD damage. I think that should be switched. Aside from that, I would love to see the ability to eat channeling allies, such as a meditating Master Yi, and I surely don't want it to eat the closest ally that didn't need to be eaten, causing both teammates to flame me. They stopped letting TK eat channeling allies back BEFORE his 2021 rework. This was when he could eat recalling champions on a really short cooldown. I don't think negating good TK player's ability to save allies in need in order to stop a troll made sense back then, and I certainly don't think it makes sense now.
Here you can see me eat the wrong unit because it ate the closest ally to Pantheon, since he was channeling when I tried eating him. We went on to lose Elder Dragon, and therefore lose the game. Very annoying mechanic.
